A European project
In a European project commissioned by ‘the European Commission, DG Employment’, eight countries have recently started working on all kinds of materials that can support you in your actions towards employers.
First, the partners in the eight countries, in consultation with employers, have looked at what they need: what could ‘entice’ them to open their doors to talk about the possibilities of employing people with disabilities. They also studied the scientific theoretical models on behavior change. Together, those two gave them enough input to create the materials that might benefit you, if you’re working on making entrepreneurs more inclusive; If you’re organizing something for them.
What has been and is being developed?
- Twenty tips (To read or To print), to help if you want to be inclusive as an entrepreneur, and employ workers with disabilities within your company.
- Storytelling videos, with stories from entrepreneurs about how they do it, what they have encountered, what they have learned, and what they advise if their fellow entrepreneurs want to ‘do it too’
- i-SME action guidelines (Ingredients, Procedure & Working document), which support you in developing interventions for entrepreneurs. By advising you to “do the right thing, at the right time, through the right means and the right person, with the right message in the right place.

It includes guidelines on how to engage employers, plan effective events, and address common barriers, ensuring a structured and evidence-based approach to inclusive employment.
